ILLUSTRATION FOR INCLUSION
Illustration for Inclusion initiative created at Meta:
The presentation discusses the problem of start-up brands relying on stock imagery due to budget and staff limitations, which results in a lack of creativity, personalization, and inclusivity. The opportunity lies in using illustrations, which can provide cost-effective ways to create inclusive, personalized, and creative content. The hypothesis is that by taking an inclusive approach to production and building illustrations with creators reflecting the brand's diverse audience, it will create more representative content that drives business impact.
FLARE
One of the campaigns that came from Illustration for Inclusion initiative was for Flare Audio (a device designed to assist individuals with hearing sensitivity):
Make Noise Beautiful was a campaign for Flare Audio that used an illustrator from the autism community to create content that would reflect the human benefits of the product. From research to product strategy to audience and through creative, we identified an opportunity and produced content that was from the unique perspective of an individual with lived experience of ASD.
