WorkshopS & TALKS & EXhibitions
I never learned more than while teaching.
I love giving workshops to adults and kids, from schools to companies. I love sharing and listening, showing and seeing. Let’s talk about it.
COMING up: OFICINA CRIATIVA “EM BUSCA DE HISTÓRIAS”

WORKSHOP In TAIWAN
One of the best experience I had giving talks and hosting workshops was in Taipei/Taiwan at Xue Xue Insitute. I was invited to exhibit my work and spend a week teaching there. I met incredible kids, teenagers and adults. I left there thinking about investing more time on teaching.
3 different CLASSES
I created three types of workshops, tailored to the different age groups. For the teenagers' one we ask them to work individually and in groups stimulating either the skills to work alone with their own thought and sharing with others. The task was developing their own stories and afterwards creating together with a group of 4/5 friends a narrative in conjunction. The outcome was delightful and really fun to hear. During the few hours of the workshop I could realised that all of them were feeling comfortable and confident to express themselves.
The workshop for adults had to be different. While teenager and kids are more confident to hold a pen and draw, most of the adults require more patience and guidance. It was a fun experience help most of them to transpose the barrier of a blank page. By the end of the workshop we had pages and pages of stories. The contrast from the seriousness to happy faces at the end was the biggest reward I could never imagine.
The workshop for kids under 8, most of them accompanied by their parents, I had a distinctive approach. My aim was to let their rich imagination flows despite the adults around them looking. They had completely freedom to explore their own ideas inspired by a starting point, a photography.

It was great to give a talk at D&AD surrounded by brilliant creative women: Julie Seal (Facebook), Susan Hopkin (Mother London), Cat Botibol (PD3) and the talented illustrator Cristina Guitian. We were invited to talk about our experience in the creative industry and what we'd say to our younger selves.
